At AirSpace we think of the public programme as a Neighbourhood – a space that combines the public and private – the space between us and what happens here, by exchanging, socialising and learning from other artists' practices.
Gallery as CommunityOne of the best definitions of cultural production is perhaps that of ‘making things public’: the process of connecting things, establishing relationships, which in many ways means befriending issues, people, contexts. (Celine Condorelli)
PRINT CLUB, led by artist Rebecca Davies, is a means to open up an untapped resource for artists in the city who want to experiment with print techniques. Our Print Room currently offers : One large flatbed etching press, suitable for prints (etching, lino, aquatint, etc) up to A1 size and 3 Adana letterpress printers with a small range of typefaces. We offer a bi-monthly range of activity including visiting print-specialists, inductions on the Adana letterpress machines and drop in sessions, where people who have received an induction can use the facilities.
Though we do our best in supporting artists to make work as part of Print Club, our facility has a limited amount of materials and apparatus, so please bear this in mind, as your participation requires resourcefulness and invention! Please note that for some activities in Print Club, there will be a small fee charged to cover materials and staff time.
Please note: AirSpace Film Club is currently on sabbatical, awaiting funding. For info on upcoming events and print sessions and for how to access the facilities, please email the gallery
